First, a very big thank you to John H, Pastor Dave, Pastor John, and Melissa for braving the winter weather at Orange Outlets last night.  Actually, the weather was surprisingly pleasant, no wind, and by our favorite location (Forever 21/Corner Bakery) is sheltered and well lit.

The evening was noteworthy because of the number of brief conversations that occurred: some supported our efforts and some did not.  We went light on signs, using our CJC identification signs at both ends of the table and the one “position statement” sign at the front.  While there’s no way of telling, one might wonder if this rather soft approach helps us engage.

One major difference between the CJC table at Orange compared to Los Cerritos is that we simply don’t get the traffic in Orange.  At best, we can pass out 100-300 trifolds in 2 hours.  However, we have more opportunity to talk.  Because enough people work the table, this allows us the luxury of being able to have conversations while following the strict rule of having only two people passing out information.

Thank you for compiling that list of all that’s wrong with Islam in the January 27 edition of The Arab Weekly.  You missed only a few points – namely, the Muslims’ refusal to assimilate and the counter-factual Islamic supremacy as expressed in “Allahu Akbar.”  The weakness of your complaint that Islam is getting a bum rap is underscored by your reliance on Juan Cole’s laughable assertion that Muhammad was a man of peace.  (Just read the 40% One-Star reviews of his book about Muhammad in www.Amazon.com.)

You completely misrepresent Sharia LAW as merely a set of guidance points.  It is, in fact, a set of written, indelible, enforceable laws that result stoning of adulterers, wife beating, sexual assault of non-Muslims, honor murders, FGM, and throwing gays off of tall buildings.  Sharia Law has no place in any Western country and is categorically opposed to the terms of the U.S. Constitution.  Ending the stoning of adulterers would do little to improve the image of Sharia Law which is at its core discriminatory on the basis of race, gender, and religious belief.

You are mistaken about the ignorance of many educated Western people about Islam.  When President Thomas Jefferson was faced with the plunder and kidnapping of Americans by the Barbary pirates, he got a copy of the Quran and learned why Muslims considered Americans “sinners” who were fair game for plunder, kidnapping, and rape.  Today, as more and more Western communities fall victim to Islamic terrorism, legal jihad, and creeping Sharia, people are reading the unvarnished texts of “Reliance of the Traveler,” the hadith, and the Quran which proclaim, among other things, that non-Muslims are the worst of all creatures, that Sharia Law takes precedence over “man-made laws,” and that Muhammad was victorious through terror.

Hoping that less violence in war-torn Middle East will reduce “Islamophobia,” is a fool’s errand.  Most Westerners are indifferent to the internecine conflicts between Sunnis and Shi’ites in the Middle East, the civil war in Syria, and the senseless proxy war in Yemen.   What is needed in the West is an end to the rampant illegal immigration, expanding “no-go zones,” and the imposition of Sharia Law mandates on non-Muslims.  If there is any basis for “Islamophobia,” it is something that Muslims brought upon themselves.

It’s amazing how peaceful and informative a public outreach we can have when Sheriff Deputies are stationed by us.  Today they were there along with three mall security guards and it was a great public outreach.  I would like to thank Pastor J, Maria, Diane and Jim for coming on out today.  Having a couple of extra Kafirs gives everyone the chance to sit down for a while.  Maria who is fluent in Spanish was great having her there as there is a large Hispanic and Pilipino community.  She spoke to several families who otherwise would not have been sure of what we were doing.

By the end of the day we had passed out almost 1,000 brochures.  All of us today had conversations with the shoppers and most were very positive.  Sure we had a few disgruntled Muslims, they just don’t care for the truth being told.  One lady stopped and spoke with us for a long time.  She ended up wanting several of all of our brochures for passing on to her relatives and friends.  She wanted to know what she could do to stop this spread of Islam.  I told her we were working on toolkits for people that will tell them exactly what they can do.  Told her to keep checking our website or stop back from time to time.
